E9 Condenser High-Pressure Protection
E9 error codes are most likely due to the inactivity of proper airflow, either the warm exhaust is unable to leave the unit or is being recirculated back into the unit. This could be due to obstacles that block the air from leaving the grille. Or units that have installed a sleeve extension can cause this issue.
This error code is designed to safeguard the high pressure in the condenser, thereby prompting the unit to display the error code and prevent its use during this time.
To resolve the issue, steps below are provided to resolve the error:
Step1:
Step 2:
Step 3:
If the issue continues, we ask you to follow the below steps before reaching out to us:
- If the unit is being used with a thermostat, disconnect the terminal block at the unit and operate the unit in display mode.
- Disconnect the unit from the power source and remove it from the sleeve. Position the unit on the floor.
- Take out the filter from the unit.
- Connect the unit to the power source and run the unit in FAN mode with the fan speed set to high. Once the compressor reaches room temperature, switch to COOL mode and fan in AUTO. Ensure that the set point is 4 degrees lower than the room temperature. For instance, if the room temperature is 25°C, set the point to 21°C.
- Verify that the indoor fan, outdoor fan, and compressor are activated.
- Inspect for any frost accumulation around the unit's copper piping.
- If the E9 error code is displayed after a few minutes of operation, the sensor is likely defective.
- If the problem persists, it may be related to the sleeve. Check for any gaps between the back of the unit and the grille. If a gap is present, it will be necessary to install foam to create separation for airflow between the outdoor coil and compressor.
