What Is the Purpose of the Vent Door?
The vent door allows fresh outdoor air to enter the room. It can be opened when outdoor weather conditions are comfortable and additional ventilation is desired.
Important: We generally recommend keeping the vent door closed during normal heating and cooling operation. Leaving it open can allow outdoor air to enter continuously, making it harder for the unit to maintain the desired room temperature.
How to Open or Close the Vent Door
- Locate the vent door mechanism on the side of the unit.
- Identify the vent door lever and its OPEN and CLOSE positions.
- If the vent door is secured with a screw, remove the screw before operating the lever.
- Move the lever to the desired position.
- Once finished, return the lever to the closed position and secure it as applicable.

Important Reminder: After adjusting the vent door, make sure it is securely closed when outdoor ventilation is no longer needed. Keeping the vent door closed during normal heating and cooling operation helps prevent unwanted outdoor air from entering the room and allows the unit to maintain the desired temperature more efficiently.
