Our units often come pre-set to display temperature in Fahrenheit, which may not be suitable for everyone. In this article, we will guide you through the process of changing your PTAC unit's temperature settings and changing the display from Fahrenheit to Celsius, making it more user-friendly for those accustomed to the metric system.
Change Display Fahrenheit to Celsius
GC 42" & GCDM
Here's a step-by-step guide:
1. Turn on the unit and allow the display the room temperature.
2. Ensure the unit is not calling for cool or heat.
3. Hold the HEAT and + together for 3 seconds.
4. When you notice the temperature change to Celsius, you have completed the steps. For example, 85°F degrees will change to 29°C.
GCTW 26"
Here's a step-by-step guide:
1. Plug in the unit and keep the display turned off. If the unit is operating, stop calling for cool or heat and turn off the display.
2. Hold the MODE and + together for 3 seconds.
3. Once you have seen C, you have adjusted the unit you prefer.
4. Turn On the PTAC Unit: Now that you've made the necessary adjustments, turn the PTAC unit back on. It should now display temperatures in Celsius.
Change Temperature Setting (GCTTW)
Press the ▲ and ▼ button to change the temperature setting.
NOTE: Press or hold either UP or DOWN button until the desired temperature is seen on the display. This temperature will be automatically maintained anywhere between 62°F (17°C) and 86°F(30°C). If you want the display to read the actual room temperature, see To Operate on Fan Only section.
